creating a study guide, using hyperlinks

i'm trying to set-up a study guide, where once a student clicks on an answer
he/she finds out if their answer is right or wrong, have created slides that
say correct and incorrect, i'm using an action button at the bottom of the
slide to return to the original slide (using last slide viewed) however if
the last slide viewed was correct after going on to the next slide, i end up
in a loop which then takes me to the end of the show. there has to be a
better wayt to handle this, but can't figure it out. could really use some
help.

thanks,

Try custom shows. Create a custom show called "Correct" and another one
called "False" or whatever you'd like. Hyperlink to the custom show
(not the slide) and choose the option for show and return.

See if that works for ya.

Also, there is a book out (fairly expensive - in my opinion) that
addresses your very concern. It is called "Powerful PowerPoint for
Educators", and it explains some good ways to use PowerPoint as a
teacher.

Let me know if you are interested in obtaining this book. Two of us at
work bought it for a project and we have one too many.

Andy,

Thanks for the plug for my book. I had no control over the price; that
was the publisher's decision. You can find more information about the
book at:

http://www.PowerfulPowerPoint.com/

This would be a good place to start because you can download examples
from the book and try them out. You might even be able to use the
examples without having to buy the book (don't tell my publisher I said
that).

And I also have the Powerful PowerPoint Book. Very, very good tool
especially if you're going to use Visual Basic for any of this. Helped me a
lot and I'm definitely VB challenged. :)

David -

I did not know publishers set the price - but that makes total sense.
Thanks for letting me know.

By the way, what is a good newsgroup reader? The one I have is
horrible.

Thanks!

All I can say is that my publisher set the price. They never told me much
throughout the whole process. I saw the cover art (as well as the release
date) for the first time at Amazon.com, not from my publisher. They are a
fairly small operation, so that might have something to do with it as
well. The editors I worked with were all very nice, but I'm not sure they
had anything to do with things like price and cover art either.

As far as newsreaders go, I use Xnews. It is a fairly sophisticated but
also fairly easy to use news reader. It has plenty of quirks, so I'm not
sure if I recommend it, but it seems to do the job adequately. There is
one I use on my Mac at home also, but I can't remember the name, but it
is very quirky and tends to crash; I mostly read news in my office with
Xnews.

Up until a couple of years ago, I had been off news groups for many
years. I still remember NN fondly. It was a newsreader that stood for No
News (is good news). It assumed that you didn't want to read most of the
messages so it started by just letting you select the ones you wanted to
read.
