Creating HTML

I am making an HTML file from powerpoint to be burnt into CD (for sale). If I
have pictures which I pasted direct from clipart that are downloaded from the
web (which I have copyright to use) and they are not saved in my working
folder, will the pictures disappear or not show up when someone opens in his
computer? How do I avoid pictures not showing up? Because when I copy the
converting HTML files (in folder) and the HTML document itself, I won't be
copying a copy of all the pictures in as well, right? So it wouldn't make a
difference if I had saved the pictures in my comp first then insert pic onto
my presentation. Pls advice as my presentation is based on pictures.

Also, after the file is converted into HTML, is there a way for anyone to
track back to see that it's a powerpoint file? Because it doesn't look
professional that's why I am hoping they can't track it (maybe under
properties etc). Thanks for your help.

Hi,

You have raised a number of issues here. If the images are inserted into a
PowerPoint, they will appear on the web as long as you upload the images in
their folder. The fact they appear in the Clip Art area is by the by. One
way to get around transferring all files is to save as web and mhtml type.
But this type does not work on all web browsers.

As for tracking back, it can be done. Not only could it be viewed, but
converted back into a PowerPoint file.

Hi,

Putting html on the web:

http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00241.htm

Under Web Options, you can specify a target browser like Netscape or IE.
Also, the mhtml is under Save as Web page, and the drop down type box. Look
for single web page type.

Thanks Glen,

Is there a way I can find out which web browser CAN view all the pics? That
way at least I can specify under "requirements" in viewing my CD. Just to be
sure - what do you mean by "upload the images in their folder"? So I must
save a copy of the pic in my comp then go "insert, pic from file" and can't
do a copy and paste (presuming the clip art is from a website).

You mentioned a way to get around transferring all files is to save as web -
ie, save the ppt into HTML? Or is there another method? Cos I am not sure
what is mhtml (or is that typo?) - sorry for so many questions. Am a real
novice as you probably can already tell.
