Creating Resources

Kevin Flanagan

To create your enterprise resource pool, open your Ent
Global and go to the Resource Sheet view. You enter in
their information their, including their
domain\windowsaccount information as well as much other
detail including the RBS. When you save the Ent Global,
the resource pool will be created. (There are a couple of
other methods such as importing and copying and pasting
from Excel that work also. Then you need to go to the
Admin manage users and groups in PWA and give your
resources access and permissions to access. Once this is
set, they will be loged in automatically upon going to
the Project Server Home Page URL.

Once this is done and you open your projects from Project
Server, you will be able to add resources and build a
project team.

Anyone following the directions you've posted here will corrupt their
enterprise global.

Kevin:

I can assure you that nobody in your organization, or the world for that
matter, opens the Enterprise Global to enter new resources. This can ONLY be
done by opening the Enterprise Resource Pool. The instructions in your post
say to open the Enterprise Global and then go to the resource sheet view. I
think you ought to try that and see what happens. Afterwards, you can find
the many posts that explain how to eliminate the errors you'll be getting
the next time you open a project.
