custom animations are not restarting

How do you get the custom animation in PP2003 to restart when a used has
clicked a back to slideNo??? button, when that slide has already been played.
At the moment it is showing the slide completed, each time after the 1st
viewing...????

Put a blank slide before the slide you want to jump to and set the transition
to automatically advance after 0 seconds. Moving backward in PowerPoint
always goes to the last state of the slide; moving forward always goes to the
beginning state.

Rewind animation by inserting a blank slide set at auto advance in front
works every time in PowerPoint. When running under viewer 2003 it will hang
on the blank slide at random times.
It may hang on first rewind or may go for several rewinds before hanging.
Is this a bug in the viewer?

Thanks for the advice works great, Ive titled it a loading page, to cover the
delay.
