Custom fields in MS Project 2000

Would be interested to see some specific examples from others who have
benefitted from this customization capability.

Help and tutorials are somewhat vague on this topic.

Thanx.

Hi Jim
Custom fields contains specific information or value in a project that is
unique to your organiztion.
Custom fields also have formulas or indicators. It can be created at
Project, task or resource level
Giving you few examples.
1. i can create a custom field at Project level called Region or State in
order to categorize my projects based on reasosn. This will help me in
reportinng
2. I can create a custom field at task level like purchase order date. I
will want this date to be associated with all the deliverables/milestones in
my project
3. I can create a custom field at resouce level like branch in order to view
branchwise resource alloacation.
4. I can create a custom filed which gives red spotlight to show all dealyed
task

Hope this is useful
