I must price a project by certain Contract Line Items (CLIN) in our proposal.
The proposal calls for pricing by human resource for each CLIN. So, I have
Bob and Ted assigned to given tasks.
I created a Text1 (or a Custom Field) called CLIN. I can use the Group By
to sort by CLIN, then Resource. What I am expecting to see is the individual
resource totals for each human resource underneath each CLIN. However, what
I get is that when "Bob" and "Ted" are both assigned to the same resource,
Project will present a line "Bob/Ted" as if the two together were a unique
"third" resource. So instead of listing:
CLIN1
Bob 10 hours
Ted 10 hours
CLIN 2
Bob 10
Ted 10
I get something like this:
CLIN1
Bob 4 hours
Bob/Ted 11 hours
Ted 5 hours.
How can I avoid this?? It is creating far too many combinations for me. To
give you a perspective, I have 6 CLINS and 51 unique resources. What I need
is each CLIN and then 51 lines below it ... instead sometimes I have over 300
lines of resources associtated wit a CLIN. That is not going to work.
I already tried going to the resource usage view. However, when I do that,
I cannot get the custom field (CLIN) to appear for additional sorting.
Help! How can I get the sort I want?
