Custom Install only Word 2003 and issues.

I have Microsoft Office Standard Edition 2003 for Student and Teachers. How
do i custom install properly? i choose to install only word and Window XP
Automatic Update is now downloading critical updates excel 2003, powerpoint,
Outlook 2003 Which is not even installed on my machine.

Hi AJJ,

The updates are at the Edition level, not the 'installed features' level. The apps share common files from the Suite that you have
and the changes affect many of those shared files.

You can always choose to turn off any or all updates. They are recommended for improved performance and/or safety, but not
'mandatory'.
