Custom Installation Wizard

S

SpyderBytes

I have an install point on the server (office 2000) which works fine but when
a user installs from this point I want to point the WorkGroup Template file
location to a point on the server not locally. I can't find anywhere in the
wizard that allows you to do this. I can set it manually but then if another
user logs on for the first time it runs setup and places a normal.dot
locally. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Paul,

The Workgroup location is blanked in an upgrade
scenario by design to keep folks with more than
one version or more than one user
from stepping on each others templates. Normal.dot
is *not* intended to be a shared template. This article
and those it links to may be helpful.

You can set the WorkGroup Template location
it by adding a registry file/setting to deploy with your
MST file when you deploy Office.
