I have a 2003 mdb which has securities applied and the data kept in a linked
SQL database , but we are operating it in Access 2007. Users must sign in
with ids and passwords and most have permissions only for some of the
objects. Right now, everyone sees all the objects, even though they can't
open them all.
I created custom categories and groups for the db, but none of the non-admin
users can see them when they sign in. In order to view any objects at all,
users have to select the category Object Types, which shows ALL items.
Signed in as a regular user, under Navigation Options, no other groups or
categories show, even if you check the box for Show Hidden Items. You can
Left click on the Navigation Pane (should show the Category options), but it
only offers the default categories, like Object Types.
How can I get the custom categories and groups to be visible to the main
users? thanks!
