Hi, I am in situations to create an custom task pane for word and excel (2007
and xp) is it possible to create a single COM add-in to work on both version.
Is it possible to create custom task pane for XP ?

It is certainly possible to create a single Com add-in that targets multiple
versions of Office and multiple Office applications; you need to use the
IDT2Extensibility interface (not VSTO).

However, Custom Task Panes were introduced in Office 2007 and are *not*
available for any earlier version of Office.

2000-2007. And an add-in based on the .NET edition of Add-in Express is a
single code base supporting Office 2000-2007.
