See my footer. Then....

Change to a table view (Phone List).

Use the Field Chooser to select New field and make the field you want.

You can print the Contacts in the table with whichever fields you put into
view. Drag them onto the table.

Hi Peter,
Open the Contacts Folder
Click “Organizeâ€
Click “Using Categoriesâ€
In the “Create a new Category†Field type a name for it.
Select all the contacts for this category from your list by clicking them
while holding down the â€Ctrl†Key.
In the “Add contacts selected below to†field enter the category you created
or use one from the available list. ( Click the arrow to open it )
and press the “Add†button.
Do the same for all categories you want.
After you finished , click “ By Category “
to select this view for the folder and close the organizer.

I know that I've done this previously, but now cannot seem to recall how in
the Contacts Panel of Outlook 2003 to customize the Current View under
Contacts.
- I know how to create new Categories using the Edit|Categories|Master
Category List dialog box, but the new categories do not appear under the
Current View on the left panel when back in Contacts.
- Your help would be appreciated.

Each view can be customised in various ways - you can use the Field Chooser
to add columns, you can right click the heading and use Customise Current
View.

As I see it, the Field Chooser is useful for changing the structure of the
contacts list. My problem is a bit different.

In Outlook 2003, I have the navigation pane turn on. This results in a
leftmost column that displays the word "Contacts" as a title.
- Under that is a section title named "My Contacts"
* Under that is an icon and the word "Contacts"
- The next section is titled "Current View." It contains a panel that radio
buttons with my options for viewing contacts. A few examples follow:
* Business
* EIA
* Family
* Friends
* JECOR
* Neighbors
* Address Cards
* Detailed Address Cards
*...etc.

My life has evolved and I now want to change that list, but do not see how
to do so. Obviously, I did so some years back, but don't remember how I did
it.

So, what I want to do is to modify the list of views displayed in the
Contacts panel. I have created some new Categories using Edit|Categories but
those new items do not display as radio buttons in the Contacts panel.

Hi Rod,
You probably have selected the "Only show views created for this folder"
check box in the "Custom View Organizer" dialog box. To display the views, on
the View menu, point to "Arrange By", point to "Current View", and then click
"Define Views". Clear the "Only show views created for this folder" check box.

OK, Thanks!! You got me pointed at the correct place to change the settings.

First, I had to go to the Edit Categories dialog box to add the new
categories to the Master Category list.

Second, I had to select the categories to be displayed.

Here is how I did it:
The View|Arrange by | Current View |Customize | Current View selections
brought me to the correct place. All I had to do then was to press the
Filter button which initiated the Filter settings folder. On the More
Choices tab I simply selected the Categories button and chose from the
Categories that appeared.

For future reference - the issue you're having is with the Navigation Pane.
That's what the section down the left of screen is now called in 2003.
