Customising Task Fields

C

Carpy

Hi there,

I wonder if someone can tell me how to do the following:

I am trying to customise a field to show all those tasks where they have
finished past the scheduled Baseline date. Also need to show this at the
various intervals with different colours. eg, Less than a month past, 1-2
months etc.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks for this, something not working quite right though. What does the 7
relate in this forumula. IIf( said:
week",IIf([Finish]-[Baseline Finish]<=0,"on target","week")),"NA")

If this is as it should be then I am not putting correct info into Graphical
Indicators.

Hi Carpy

7 days so you'll need to change it to the number of days you want to test
the variance for.

does this get it working for you

Hi Carpy

sorry another thought ... if you're talking about 100% complete tasks as
well as tasks in progress change the formula to

IIf([Finish]-[Baseline Finish]>7,"over week",IIf([Finish]-[Baseline
Finish]<=0,"on target","week"))

still changing the 7 to the number of days you want to indicate the variance

Hi

no problem
when you're setting up the graphical indicators choose
"equals" in the first column and then in the second column you need to type
the EXACT text that you have in the formula - from my last formula the first
line would be
equals...................month................choose indicator
second line
equals...................two months.............choose indicator
third line
equals..................more...................choose indicator

How did you go?

to test the formula you need to change the FINISH date not the baseline
finish date
also you've not defined a graphical indicator for "more" so you'll need to

btw if you complete all the tasks in your test.mpp to 100% you'll see it

Done that, set a task to 100% and moved the finish to date to more
than 30
days from the baseline finish, but no indicator has appeared in the

Carpy

:

Hi

no problem
when you're setting up the graphical indicators choose
"equals" in the first column and then in the second column you need
to
type
the EXACT text that you have in the formula - from my last formula
the
first
line would be
equals...................month................choose indicator
second line
equals...................two months.............choose indicator
third line
equals..................more...................choose indicator

How did you go?

This is it, but I cannot seem to get the Graphical Indicators to

Last request, I promise.

Hi Carpy

is this more along the lines of what you're after

IIf([% Complete]="100",IIf([Finish]-[Baseline
Finish]=0,"",IIf([Finish]-[Baseline
Finish]<=30,"month",IIf([Finish]-[Baseline Finish]<=60,"two
months","more"))),"")

I am only talking about 100% complete tasks. How can I set the
variance
to
show, for instance all those tasks which vary between 1 and 30
under
one
indicator.

Carpy

:

Hi Carpy

sorry another thought ... if you're talking about 100% complete
tasks
as
well as tasks in progress change the formula to

IIf([Finish]-[Baseline Finish]>7,"over
week",IIf([Finish]-[Baseline
Finish]<=0,"on target","week"))

still changing the 7 to the number of days you want to indicate
the
variance
for

Cheers

Julie

Thanks for this, something not working quite right though.
What
does
the 7
relate in this forumula. IIf([%
Complete]<>"100",IIf([Finish]-[Baseline
Finish]>7,"over
week",IIf([Finish]-[Baseline Finish]<=0,"on
target","week")),"NA")

If this is as it should be then I am not putting correct info
into
Graphical

Hi there,

I wonder if someone can tell me how to do the following:

I am trying to customise a field to show all those tasks
where
they
have
finished past the scheduled Baseline date. Also need to
show
this
at
the
various intervals with different colours. eg, Less than a
month
past,
1-2
months etc.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi Daren

to test the formula you need to change the FINISH date not the baseline
finish date
also you've not defined a graphical indicator for "more" so you'll need
to
do that if you want it

btw if you complete all the tasks in your test.mpp to 100% you'll see it
work.
