Customize Open Dialog Box

I want to add a specific folder to the "Favorite Links" section of the Open
Dialog box in my office apps. I used to be able to drag this onto the
Navigation bar in Office 2003 but, like many of the features I liked in 2003,
it disappeared (the Ribbon is poorly organized and the customized bar below
it is laughable). I use Office applications 50-60 hours/week and waste
considerable time navigting to the same spot on my folder list. I don't want
to rearrange my folders to accommodate Office.

Is there a way to do this? Thanks for your help.

I am new to this service so I apologize if I have not followed the rules.
How do I find the newsgroup?

I think that the answer to your response is "yes". I want to create a
shortcut in the Favorite Links area of the Open dialog box that will allow me
to scoot to a specific folder, rather than to have to traverse the folder
tree by clicking on and expanding many folders. In Office 2003 I could drag
my folder to the favorites area. I could then click on that "shortcut" to go
directly to my folder.

Thanks

You've found the newsgroup. :) I suspect my standard note, to please reply
to the newsgroup instead of directly to me (depending on how you access the
newsgroups Reply to Author is an available option), confused you a bit.
Sorry about that.

You should be able to use the same method as before. Navigate to the folder
you want to add then drag/drop it in the Favorite Links area. Here's an
article I found using Google that contains step-by-step instructions and
screen shots:

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email cannot be acknowledged.

That was perfect, thanks. I should have been able to figure that out on my
own.

This is a great discussion group. I am sure I will be back.
