Cut & Paste trouble Off XP

Dave D

In any office document, if I paint a field, and press
ctrl + c, I then move to the destination, and press ctrl
+ v to paste it, and instead of pasting the data, it
pastes an entire screen shot of what ever is on my desk
top. If i right click and do copy and then paste, it
will usually work properly the first time, but then if i
continue to ctrl-v it will eventually revert back to
pasting a screen capture. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Instead of using ctrl+c, hold down the <alt> key and tap <PrintScrn>. This should only capture the screen/dialog box your cursor is on. <Ctrl+V> should then just paste that piece.

While your response is correct, my reading of David's problem is that
he's highlighting a text field and then doing a <Ctrl+C> and this is
doing a print screen as if he had pressed <Alt+Print Screen> instead of
just copying the text.

Correct Brian, instead of getting the text i cut or copy,
I am getting an unwanted screen capture. I can't figure
for the life of me why it is doing this. I thought it
might have to do with going through a belkin switch box,
but I can recreate the error even if I just go straight
off of my laptop, stand alone. Still very puzzled (and
frustrated by this)

Thanks
