Data missing from workbook

Using Excel 2003 and when I opened my workbook the data
is gone. It has been replaced with infomation as follows:
vti_encoding
vti_timelastmodified
vti_author
vti_timecreated
Does any one have any idea why this would happen. I can
not locate the file with the original data.
