Data Tables format

Excel 2000 - my data table is showing in dollars when the source data and
value axis is formatted in pounds sterling.

I believe all you need to do is change the format for that column from $ to
the correct currency. Use the FORMAT CELLS command, select CURRENCY and
select the appropriate symbol.

Thanks Barb but it is not possible to do that on the data in a data table in
a chart: it takes it format from the underlying source data which is pounds
sterling. This is why i can't understand why it is showing in dollars -
weird.

Maria -

I can't help either. My machine knows to use $ for currency here in the
States, but when I overruled it with a number format that had the pounds
symbol, the data table reflected the pounds symbol.

Thanks Jon - it is strange - i have never seen this before in 7 years of
using Excel and am clueless as to why it is happening. The only thing i can
do is do away with the currency format completely but it still intrigues!
