Date options

I have been trying to enter the date as June 2004, but
Excel will not allow this simple option? I've tried
other options, but the closest I can find is June-04.
None of their other options is what I want. I simply
want June 2004. How can I enter this without it
automatically defaulting to something else?
Thank you.
