Deactivate Auto Complete Feature

E

emillay9

When I type my name on a business letter, Word pulls out a Business Title
that I have used and must have used at the beginning because it auto
completes for me everytime, which is getting tedious -- I don't always use
this particular one. It also does it in my Outlook 2003.
Example: -- I type my name:
Jane Doe and immediately after I type the DOE-- the program adds Realty &
Land Company.
I want to deactivate this feature in Word and in Outlook.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

From your Tools menu, locate AutoCorrect Type your Name in the
Replace box. The With Box should display your Name + the
offending information. Once you have the offending AutoCorrect
entry highlighted, you can delete it.

There is also a possibility that what you have is an AutoText
entry, so if you can not locate the offending text in
AutoCorrect, from the Insert Menu, locate AutoText and select
New. A dialog box will open and you can scroll through the
listing and delete as appropriate.
