Decimal Point Precision Error

I have a problem entering the actual work with decimal points. The actual
work that I entered for example is 2.87 for a certain resource, after saving,
publishing and reopening the said project, the actual work becomes 2.86. We
are actually using MSP as a client to our Project Server 2003 with both
service pack2.

Please help.

Project does have some rounding errors and you have found one of them.

From a practical standpoint, one one hundredth of an hour is about 36
seconds.
Is it worth worrying about that in a schedule where your estimations are
probably only accurate to + or - 10% at best and are often up in the range
of 30%?
