"Decrese Decimal" in Word tables

T

T.S.

I would like to use in Word tables the same funciton
already present in Excel called "Decrese Decimal".

I wonder whether this function is already available
somewhere in Word. Or, if it is not, whether anybody would
make me the favor to program a macro for me.
I would be very grateful.

Excel's Decrease Decimal reduces the number shown in each
cell of the selected area of a table by one decimal place.
E.g., if in one cell the number 3.1415 is shown, clicking
on "Decrease Decimal" shows 3.141, clicking again shows
3.14 and so on

I need something less sophisticated than the Excel
function: Excel's Decrease Decimal remembers the actual
number and just visualizes the shorter number. I would be
happy to have the number permanently rounded (or
truncated, I don't care).

Thank you.

Why don't you insert and Excel Spreadsheet into the Word document instead of
using a Word table. It can be made to look the same as a Word table when
the document is printed, but you have all of the Excel functionality
available to you while working in the "table.

Thank you for your suggestion.

I am trying to speed up things and pasting the Excel sheet
in sounds slow to me (The tables are generated directly in
Word by a 3rd program).

This is a long document, ultimately it will have around
150 tables. I fear such a file would be so have to crash.
