Delayed typing

I'm running Office XP SP3 on Windows XP. When I try to type in PowerPoint the
letters take time to show up on the screen. There is a delay between the time
I type and the time they show up on the slide.
This is the only applicaction that this happens on.
Sometime when loading a presentation it takes about 10 seconds to load. Even
if it's only a few slides.
I'm running McAfee 8i for virus protection.

Any suggestions?

Try disabling McAfee. Does it work better?
