Deleting a half sent meassage

Hi, I started to send an e-mail and realised I had attached the wrong
file - the one attached happens to be 10MB. My servicxe provider won't
allow a file this big so it half sends and then errors. The problem is
that I can't delete the email from my outbox as Outlook says that it
has started transmitting it. As a result I can't send or receive any
email any more. Does anyone know how I can get rid of this email from
my outbox? Cheers, James.

First thing I'd try is to turn off autosend/receive on the Internet
Email account, or temporarily delete the smtp server's name in the
profile. (This should stop the sending, then delete from outbox)

<<OR>>
If that failed, I'd create a new profile (I don't know the differences
in 2K3 versus 2K, but this is how I'd tackle it) with minimal
information, but don't include any ISP information, especially outbound
smtp server. Then, either point to the original .pst or a new .pst
(better) and "Open" the original .pst ... then go into the original
..pst and remove the file from the outbox. (you'd have to change the
default profile to the new profile, then change it back. Again, I don't
know if this is comparable in 2K3)

That last step is pretty drastic, and as I'm reading regarding 2k3, may
cause unwanted things to happen. I don't know, probably not, but I'd
probably want to try it on a backup copy of my .pst first.

You can call your service provider and have them delete
the file from the server. I have had to do that in the
past.
