Deleting Appointments

I have several meeting invitations that I have sent where the To: line is blank. These incomplete invitations keep repeating in my "Deleted Items" folder. They repeat mostly at 5-6 minutes intervals. I have tried every method I know to delete these messages but can't seem to do so. Prior to them appear in the "deleted items' folder, the appeared as reminders. I have find gotten them to stop doing that. Can any help me in clear those items from Outlook. Please note some of the items do not appear in the calendar.
