Deleting vacuous headers

T

Thomas Payne

I am using Outlook 2002 with Windows XP Pro.

I have a weird problem. I set Outlook to only retrieve the headers of
messages over 100 k. At one point, one of my e-mail accounts servers crashed
and all the messages on the server were deleted, and cannot be retrieved.
Now I have two headers in my inbox that will not go away! I have tried
setting them to retrieve the (non-existent) messages -- nothing. I have set
them to delete the (non-existent) messages -- nothing. I cannot delete them,
I cannot archive them, I cannot move them to an unused folder. They just sit
there staring me in the face every time I start Outlook. Must I deal with
this for the rest of my life, or is there some way to edit the .pst file to
get rid of these headers?

Thank you for any help.

Create a new mail profile and then move/delete them.

Thank you for this reply. However, I need to ask you to be more specific. I
set up a new mail profile. But now how do I move/delete the vacuous headers
from my old profile?

I should tell you I have thousands of messages stored in several folders. I
don't want to start all over using a new profile, if that is what you are
suggesting I do.

Thanks again for the help.
