Deploy Office 2003 SP1 via Group Policy

I have depoloyed Office 2003 via Group Policy using an mst file to modify the
installation. I read that the only way to deploy SP1 is to remove the
current installation and re-install the version with SP1 imbedded. I was
looking to see if I can push SP1 without having to re-deploy Office. Any
help is appreciated.

Windows 2003 Domain Controllers, Windows XP on all desktops...

This is incorrect. You can deploy a Service Pack in several ways, check out
the Office Resource Kit site, especially this article:

I did not see any references to deploying with group policy in that article.
I have decided to just redeploy the application with sp1. I want to go this
route because I want to change some options that I originally set in the mst.
I tried the suggestion in the article below by trying to chain sp1 by using
the setup.ini, but after a day of trying to figure it out, I found out that
group policy bypasses the setup.ini. How can I deploy sp1 in conjunction
with Office 2003 via Group Policy?
