Design Gallery and Publisher 2000 with Win XP Pro

J

J. Retrop

I just recently started having this problem. When I open
Publisher 2000 in my Win XP Pro machine all goes well
until I click on Design Gallery. From that point on the
program is unresponsive.
The only way to exit is to use End Task at which point it
tells me that Publisher is unresponsive because there is
a dialogue box open and it is waiting for a response from
me. That isn't so because Design Gallery never did open
up.
I have tried to repair Publisher without results. I have
uninstalled Publisher as well and reinstalled without any
improvements either. As a last hope I reinstalled
(overlayed)the operating system today...still not
working. Anybody run into this before? I suspect there is
something amiss in the operating system but do not know
how to troubleshoot it any further.

No problem with clip gallery. The problem is when I click
to open up the Design Gallery...nothing happens (it won't
open) and then Publisher freezes up. The only way to
close the program out is to end task it.

Does this happen if you restart your computer in SAFE mode and attempt the
same routine?

He/she said the Design Gallery--which is no more. I suspect the Clip Gallery is
trying to access the Design Gallery and gets hung up somehow. There is a re-direct...
Could be his/her cache is full.

Okay, I give up... I simply forgot about that Design Gallery... Never use/used it.
Probably he/she needs a graphics driver...
Gee, Brian.

Not your humor, mine... When I get into this forum I tiptoe around, I am always
looking over my shoulder for David.

Mary don't you worry about me, you need to be on the look out for Ed's
dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

I was deeply shocked by Brian K's language in that post. I would never ever
consider the use of that type of language.
