Desktop Icons disappeared

For some reason, my desktop icons for Access, Excel, and
Word have all disappeared and are now just blank DOS type
icons. The programs still launch fine, but the icon files
have disappeared. How can I re-establish the proper icons
for these programs?

Hi, Rob. If the desktop shortcuts have not actually disappeared, but just changed to different icons, and if the shortcuts still launch the proper applications, then you can change the icon for a shortcut by right-clicking on it, then left-click on Properties | Shortcut tab | Change Icon | <select a new icon>.
