desktop & laptop installation

My new Compaq came w/ a demo version of MS Office
installed. I purchased the full version & installed it
on the desktop. Can I install the same program on my
laptop too w/o getting into trouble w/ Microsoft or do I
need to purchase an additonal copy? Wherever it's
installed you need to activate it w/ Microsoft so they're
going to know about both.
