Desparate! Office Apps won't run if offline?

I've posted this before, but so far nothing has worked...

I have office 2003 and winxp, both updated. I have
Norton, but the office plug-in is off. The computer is a
Compaq Presario laptop.

If I am offline (not connected to internet) Word and Excel
crash as soon as they open. If I am online, no problem at
all.

Hi Ryan,

Not sure why it would crash but you can try turning off the settings in:
Help=>Customer Feedback=>Online content
and
Tools=>Autocorrect Options=>Smart Tags
to see if that makes a difference.
