Hi,

If we are working on a Win XP SP2 machine, the MDAC component is already
present(more advanced). In that case, either you could continue the
installation by clicking on 'Ignore' for 10-15 times or someone has to send
the ODBC keys from
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ODBC and
restore them into your computer.

But clicking 'Ignore' for the time being will help you to continue with the
installation further and work with the Office programs.

I found solution!

Update Windows Installer to v.4.5 or fix your current version (I dont know how). I had the same problem and it helped me. :) Moreover, it solved problems with installation of Office XP, which I tryed to install instead of 2k when got this error. The other way to fix this problem described in MS article №324520 (type in Google "KB324520" I cant post links). But it not helped me. Also I used 2 utility: MDAC Component Checker from MS and MDAC Repair Tool (csrepair.exe, look old version with Web Archive on 'macropool' site, cause it was free until 20.07.2006, or somewhere else), but it also not helped me.
