Detect & Restore removed Calander, Tasks and Email

G

Gary

I had a peoblem with Excell so I did a detect and restore. I made the
mistake of clicking the box to restore to default settings. After I did this
it removed all my office files from the defaults. I have no calander, tasks,
mail etc. I have found the files in personal folders but I want to put them
back as the defaults.

Can anyone help with this?
Thanks

I have MS Office Pro 2003

After I did the restore when I opened calendar there was nothing there.
When I open a new calenderand it asks to select a calender I can find it in
the personal folders, My email is set up there correctly as well.

The problem that I have is that I have to open each file seperatly unlike
normal when I open Outlook I have to go to file and then to Personal Folders
and find the callendar or task or contact.

What do you have set as your default delivery location under
Tools->options->mail setup->accounts->view or change? Use the dropdown to
check.

I have 4 Personal Folders and one Archive folder. I take it this is what you
are talking about.

Also, it sounds like you have a corrupted profile. Create a new one under
Control Panel->Mail Icon->Profiles and configure it to use your default .pst
file.

I was able to get a friend to help me on this what we needed to do was to
create a new profile and then import the .pst file into that profile. I am
not sure why that would make a differance but it worked. I thank you for
trying to help me out. this is a great service.

If you simply opened the .pst file or configured your profile to use the
..pst file, it would have been better. See if your contacts' birthdays show
up in your calendar.

Well I checked all the birthdays I could think of and they were in the
calendar. Of course some if it might have been fixed when I synced my PDA
but it all seems to be working OK.
