I have an Access 2002 application that is split into a
front-end and back-end.
I have developed an Archiving functionality for the users
so they can manage the size of their production back-
end. This particular functionality requires exclusive
access to the back-end.
How can I determine, at run time, whether a user has
exclusive access. This would have to occur when the user
opens the form not when he opens his front-end.
When opening the form, if the user does not have
exclusive access, he is so informed and cannot proceed.
If he is the only one currently accessing the database,
then he should be granted exclusive access.
