dial up settings for outlook express

My friend has a mac o/s 9.2 and uses outlook express as
her mailbox. Each time she wants to check her mail she
clicks send/receive and it dials up. the trouble is if she
is away from her office for a day or so then the messages
queue up and take ages to download and clog up. Is there
someway to set the dial up so it automatically dials up
and periodically checks for messages then cuts off after
the messages are received like you can in outlook express
for windows? (her mac is left turned on all the time) This
would be a great help. Thank you Chris

Hi Chris!

It's been a very long time, but I believe Mac OE has the ability to check
for messages every X minutes. Look in its preferences for this feature.

To disconnect, your friend will need to go into here Remote Access Control
Panel and set the preference to disconnect "if idle for X minutes". She can
set this to something like 1 minute to quickly disconnect.

She'll need to leave OE running the entire time so that it can execute the
command to check messages.

Hope this helps! bill
