dialling from Outlook

outlook doesn't recognize (or hasn't found) my modem so I can't do any
automatic dialling. Can anyone help?

Have you properly set up your phone and dialing properties in Control Panel?

the modem is listed as being present there in phone and modem options
(Windows 2000 professional) but doesn't show up under dialling options in
Outlook 2002
