Did FP2003 Optimizing HMTL embed the components?

Just a guy

I am not sure how to explain it but I will give it a try. While I did
maintain a backup copy of my site, I decided to use FP's OPTIMIZE HTML
when I published my site. I then noticed that all of the include page
components, or rather the text that got filled in by the components,
now became part of the page. In other word, I use to be able to
double-click on one of the include page components and it would show
me which component it was...now the actual text from that component
has become part of the page. I assume that means that if I make
changes to the actual components themselves that it would no longer
affect all of the pages where the components feed the text?

Using the optimize html feature will cause the webbot component information
to be stripped. It's not a feature you should use.

As long as he works locally and publishes the results to the Server
there is no reason why he shouldn't use this feature. If on the other
hand he wants to work live on the server, then he can't use this
feature.

This is not correct.

If used properly using optimize works very well. Always keep your working copy as unoptimized and if you do not intent to work at
the server you can publish optimized.
