Different Versions of Publisher

C

Taking Publishers documents from my home computer,
running Windows XP Prof to my son's high school. When I
tried to open the disk, the school's computer
said, "Cannot open different version."

School is running a Version 6 of Publisher.

How/can I open my docs on the school's computer?

Version 6...That would be 95, would it not? What version are you running?

Are you running Norton Anti-Virus? If so, have you disabled the Office
Plugin and/or Script Blocking?

You cannot open documents created in later versions in earlier ones (with
the exception of 2002 and 2003 which can open each other's files).

More information required.

Cheers, Bri - I realised that as soon as I hit send, but I was in the middle
of somehting and didn't manage to come back to correct! You wouldn't think I
have every single version now would you...

I'm now highly embarrassed!

12's in Alpha already?!

Dear Brian,

for years now I use Publisher 97 and am happy with it. but now sometimes I
get files of newer versions. So an update would be useful, BUT can I open
pub97 files in the new program? And what is perhaps more difficult, can the
newer version save as Pub97, since other people still have the old version.

Erik.

Yes, Publisher 2003 can open Publisher 97 files. No, Publisher 2003 cannot
save as Publisher 97 (only as 98, 2000 and it opens by default in 2002)
