Digital projector problem

I am using a Gateway Profile 4 computer running WIN XP
connected to a a Mitsubishi XD200 digital projector. With
many programs (including MS Excel, PowerPoint), what shows
on the computer monitor does not match what shows on the
projected screen. I have tried every possible combination
with the nVidia video software to match these two screens,
but alas, no better. How do I make the computer monitor
and the projected screen show the same thing?

What does not match between the screen and the projector? A search on the
net informs that Gateway Profile 4 has nVidia card that supports dual
displays - both controlled by the same processor. Please check that the
monitor and projector resolution and color depth are same.
