disabling automatic calculations during automation session

I am inserting a new worksheet in a very large spreadsheet that does a lot of
computations. When I close/save the spreadsheet it takes an extremely long
time which I have tracked down to the fact that it is doing calculations
automatically before save (tools->options->calculation tab). Does anyone know
if there is any way to set the calculation to manual and uncheck the
"recalculate before save" option prior to saving the spreadsheet in order to
speed things up.

Since you haven't received a response here, try asking in the excel.programming
newsgroup, where you'll find many more people who specialize in Excel.
