disappearing column button in publisher 2007

On an existing publisher page that contains a text box I used to be able to
insert columns into the text box under the "formatting text box" options.
However, the column button has disappeared on this page even though that
functionality is available on new pages. Somehow I must have disabled the
button -- any ideas how to get it back? I also notice the "text wrapping"
options are also missing. Thanks in advance for any sage advice!!

The columns button is still on Format, text box, text box tab. Or right-click
the text box, format text box, text box tab.
If it is just on this one text box, it could be corrupt. Create a new text box,
paste the text from the old into the new.
There has been some issues with the page sorter and one's profile. See if
repairing your profile or creating a new one brings back these functions.

In Pub 2003 and I Guess 2007 there is no COLUMNS button if you are
editing a WEB Pubblication, but it is there if you are editing a PRINT
publication.

There are many differences of this nature.

Thanks for the reply Mary. I used the path you described to get to the
column button. The button is totally missing from its former location (not
just grayed-out as if it had been disabled). I think you have answered my
question -- the problem is probably due to something happening in the
background rather than just some setting I inadvertantly hit. Adding a new
text box to the existing page and trying to insert columns has the same
problem as the existing text box. What I can do and will do is cut and paste
the entire page into a new document. If I do that the column button returns
even for the existing text boxes.

The other thing that was done with the problem page is that it was saved in
a publisher 2000 format. I thought mayber reduced functionality was the
result but I could not recreate the problem so I assume the columns feature
was available in the 2000 version of publisher as well.
