Discrepancy of costs between project summary report and budget rep

In my current project the project summary report states costs of $1.7m, but
the budget report says the real costs are only $1.1m. Does anybody know why
there should be a difference?

Hello Richard,
Where did you read the $1.7m cost ?
May be it's the Budget At Completion (BAC) while $1.1m is the Real cost
(already spent)
So the Remaining cost would be $0.6m
