Distributing macros in a Word document instead of a template

Are there any drawbacks to distributing macros in a Word documen
instead of a template file? That is, create a template that include
macros and then rename it as a .doc when I distribute it to someon
who needs to "fill-in" the template

No drawbacks at all, as long as you don't want to distribute the macro too.
Of course, you're not going to RENAME it, right? You're going to create a
new document from the template, save it as some name, then distribute THAT,
right? :)
