I am looking for an Accounts Payable program which keeps up with job cost.

You've got it round the wrong way - you need a Job Costing module that feeds
into accounts payable....
Trust me, I've just retired as a Management Accountant...

Gordon,
Thanks for the reply!! Does Microsoft have a job costing module? OR an
accounts payable function? we were thinking that we would have everything we
need by using quick books along with excell, project manager, power point and
the other microsoft office programs. but I don't know if quick books and
microsoft can easily be linked etc......since you're retired, do you (or
would you) do any consulting?? we are a small business. Interior
Decorating. Sales of about 2 million a year. 9 employees.....

I suspect that they could - BUT the cost involved in writing code for (say)
Excel to do a simple job-costing function would probably be more than buying
an off-the-shelf solution. You might want to have a look here:

Have you asked Quickbooks whether they either do one or recommend a
third-party supplier?

I'm afraid not really into consulting to be perfectly honest, as I've
actually changed careers, and I'm not up to speed with SME legislation
now....

Some versions of QB have job costing built in...check with your accountant.
