Do I need to delete trial M/S Office after purchase of new one?

I have the trial M/S Office Student and Teacher Edition (from internet). It
has not elapsed yet. I just bought store copy (new) and would like to know
if I should delete the trail copy or just write over it?

I download two files from office 2007 professional version. One of the files
is in unknown file type. Does anyone know how to open it and install it too?

In the first file you downloaded, rename the setup file to setup.exe.

Is this something new? Seems like we're seeing this question a lot all of a
sudden.

Well, I downloaded two files for Office 2007 -- one had an .exe
extension and one had no extension. The .exe file installed the
Accounting app, which I doubt that I will ever use. The other file would
not run, of course. I assumed the other file also needed an .exe
extension. Office 2007 was installed when I added the extension and ran
the program.

My question, though, is what happened to all the setup files extracted
from the .exe files before the actual installation? In the past I have
sometimes been asked to insert my Office 2003 CD. Obviously with the
download I don't have an Office 2007 CD.

Hi Bill,

Renaming the first file to add the .exe extension generally fixes one issue (it's a bug on the website that MS is working to
correct), and the files will be extracted when running the .exe if it's complete and uncorrupted.

Note that CD#2's download includes both MS Office Accounting 2007 and the MS Office Outlook 2007 Business Contact Manager Add-in.
