DO NOT send immediately

P

Phil

My users are using Outlook 2002 and I just upgraded them
from POP3 to Exchange. Now their messages are getting
sent immediately instead of sitting in the outbox first. I
cannot find a setting anywhere to turn off the send
immediately. I am using Outlook 2003 beta and its a
checkbox under tools, options, mail setup. Can someone
tell me how to turn off the send immediately option in
outlook 2002 w/ exchange services.
Thank you.

Exchange always sends immediately. You can set it per message on the options
tab. The old SBS Resource kit included a utility, Global Send, that held all
items for a set number of minutes, I'm not sure if it works with Outlook
2003. Many of the utilities do, I just haven't tried that specific one.

if you Google GLOBLSND, you can find a number of sites that have the file
available online.

Just out of curiosity, why would you not want the mail to be sent
automatically? That's the way it's supposed to work, and it's very
efficient. People need to be careful before hitting send, of course, but
that isn't a technical issue ;-)
