do not update table of contents

When I try to print a document it always wants to update the table of contents. I do not want this to happen. When I look under tools-options-print tab, the update fields option is not selected is there something else I need to do

Hi Maya

Put the cursor anywhere in the table of contents and press Ctrl+F11.
This "locks" the TOC field (in case you weren't aware of it, the table
of contents is a field) to prevent it from updating. When the field is
locked, you won't be prompted when you print.

If you do want to update the TOC later, put the cursor in the table of
contents and press Ctrl+Shift+F11 to unlock the field. Right-click and
select Update Fields, answer the prompt, and then re-lock the field.
