Document name/path not valid

Word 2002 SP3: I have a Word file that will not open. I receive the message
that "The document name or path is not valid". I have disabled the Office
plug in in Norton Antivirus, I have unregistered officeav.dll, I have
re-registered MS Word, I have emptied the temp folder and deleted problem
files. I still can not open the file. The file will open in Word Pad and
Word Perfect 11, but all of the formatting is lost. Is there a way to fix
the file or do I have to start over?
