on a CD and then stop users from accessing the word
documents on the CD after a certain time.

on a CD and then stop users from accessing the word
documents on the CD after a certain time.

Not with any certainty, no -- unless you physically take the CD away from
them on the expiration date. You'd also want to be sure they hadn't made
copies onto the hard disk or another CD...

Any scheme to make the documents unable to open would have to depend on
macros, but it could be foiled simply by setting the macro security level to
High so that macros are disabled.
