Document summary? appearing at end of document in Word 2000 pro

[FP]

I type up a document, format it and then save it - the next time I open it it
appears back in Times New Roman size 10 font with something similar to what
is below. What is it and how do I turn it off?

Yes that sounds like it - could you please tell me step by step how to change
it back so I don't screw up.

I should have thought it was obvious from the article: In the File Open
dialog, change the "Files of type" setting from "Recover Text from Any File"
to "Word Documents" or "All Word Documents."
