Does anyone read more than five topics before posting?

Why is it that at least four times a week there are at least two posts
one can count on - how can I open (read, view) a Pub file since I don't
have Publisher and how can I create a pdf of a Pub file. Do any people
understand the value of at least scanning (I didn't type scaning) the
posts to see if their question has been asked and answered about a dozen
times.

Okay, my rant is over. My doc says it should help my gout to heal!

Mike, How do I scan my picture, save it as a PDF, open it in Publisher 97 and send it
as an email message, what are the other questions?

Where is the Publisher viewer? (How do I view pub files if I don't own
publisher?)

Hey watch it now! I was a blonde for several years. I only recently gave up
the bottle - now I'm all but completely grey. But at least it's a pretty
white grey. :)

You have two options to view the Publisher file.

1. You get Publisher and open the file.
2. You take the Publisher file to an individual who has Publisher and
is
willing to open it for you.

And so does Mrs Schmidt. :)

(Keith's been known to have backtracking rabbits himself and I love it.)

Yes! glad you got it!

I thought maybe someone's gonna make a FAQ with all the common
questions. Then the answer can be: Read the FAQ at xxx.com . Be a big
timesaver!

I've often wondered why there wasn't one as well.

Hey Brian - You've been around for a while. Why *isn't* there an FAQ?

JoAnn,

You really think people who can't bother to look up three posts from
theirs for an answer to their question will bother to read a FAQ? :-(

No, but it's worth a shot. (Unfortunately I am often disappointed by people
who won't try to help themselves. I've having issues with this at work right
now. Will I *ever* learn???)

www.publishermvps.com

It would be easier for all y'all to simply send a standard answer to the
common questions:
"Please see the FAQ at
http://www.publishermvps.com/LinkCl...d=fh;EN-US;pub2002faq&product=pub2002&mid=403

and write back if you have further questions."

Maybe you could somehow find a friendlier URL first :)

Could this be a factitious address from the Silver Princess??
Hark! She hasn't heard of http://tinyurl.com/ ??

are you calling ME the Silver Princess? 'cause I revealed I have gray
hair? I like it!

Some people don't like tinyurl because they like to know where they are
going. That bizarre address
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;pub2002faq&product=pub2002
is what I got following Brian's page www.publishermvps.com (good url!).

(I notice that the long URL is shorter and more readable than it was
yesterday LOL)

Wouldn't it be nice if it said www.publishermvps.com/FAQ instead? Brian
could make his own FAQ based on the questions most often repeated here
(which don't seem to me to be the same as the ones at MSFT support).
