Does Microsoft still support .mdi files?

I have two computers with Office Document Imaging installed. One is Office
XP Pro and the other is Office Pro 2007. The only format that I can open
with either (as evidenced by the drop down menu) is .tif. If Microsoft does
support the format, how to I update ODI, since a normal install does not
provide for it.
